Ay dios Sofia!

True her movies are hit-or-miss (Virgin Suicides? Awesome.  Marie Antionette….err…..), but you’ve gotta admit Sofia Coppola has a great aesthetic and that bleeds into a fab personal style.  Much like my girl-crush Charlotte Gainsbourg, Sofia has an easy, wallflower-ish beauty that is generally unadorned and her clothes are always chic and effortless yet totally timeless.  It’s no wonder Marc Jacobs uses her as his muse. And might I add that I’m always happy to see a fellow prominent-nose girl?  She makes the rest of us proud!

Unless you live under a rock, you know that Sofia is the daughter of Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola (and sister to Roman Coppola, cousin to Jason Schwartzman and Nicholas Cage, and…).  After acting, modeling, and starting the coveted 1990’s clothing line Milkfed,  she went on to follow in her father’s footsteps, directing movies including Academy Award-winning Lost in Translation.  She also has two children with Phoenix-frontman Thomas Mars, who she recently married in Italy and currently lives with in Paris.
